Most common challenges

The most common challenges that small and medium companies face include:

Limited resources such as time, personnel, or the right knowledge.

This results in new joiners feeling disoriented, uninformed about company policies, and having little to no integration into the company environment. It also affects employees' job satisfaction, productivity, and retention.

Question: Would you want to lose a new joiner after all the efforts you've made to bring them in?

The absence of formalized processes, including the lack of well-established procedures or leaving it to the discretion of individual managers, or even leaving it to the employees themselves. Yes, even such cases happen.

This leads to inconsistent experiences, overlooked information, or communication lapses. Most certainly, there will be misunderstandings about job expectations and company values.

Question: Would you want onboarding to be significantly different for every new joiner and then deal with the company's employer brand as it declines?

Technology limitations force companies to continue with a paperwork approach, use limited-feature versions of solutions, or lack integration with solutions in use.

All of these slow down the process, are prone to errors that lead to delays, and result in a lack of desired outcomes. That, in turn, leads to increased costs.

Question: What will happen if you continue in the same way even for a year?

About Me

Me as a person

I am a proud mom and entrepreneur who starts each day with my best coffee. The taste is so enjoyable that I'm ready to drink it non-stop, which is why I appreciate having a decaf version as well.

Music holds a special place in my life, and I don't limit myself to just one or two genres. It depends on my mood and what I'm doing at the moment. When I have guests over, I enjoy having smooth jazz. In the car with my kids, we listen to children's music and sing along. In the morning, I like to turn on the sounds of birds singing. When I need to concentrate, classical music helps me focus. Additionally, I love attending rock concerts and happily dance to trance and pop music.

I also find joy in nature walks and have a fondness for board games like Rummi and Halli Galli. I know these are so different, but both are great :)

While I'm not particularly passionate about cooking, I do enjoy baking sweet treats with my children.

If you're interested in learning more about me and my values as a person, feel free to click below and visit my Facebook page.

What I stand for

I once asked my manager about the reasons behind my selection from a highly competitive pool of candidates. In response, my manager shared that my primary focus on client welfare, rather than self-interest, set me apart. I deeply appreciate this acknowledgement to this day.

Based on my combined experiences, I firmly advocate for a foundation built on facts and data. I actively listen to clients, offering coaching and guidance tailored to their specific needs. I openly share my findings, empowering clients to make informed decisions. My approach is not driven by the desire to please someone but rather by a commitment to uncovering the underlying issues at the core of a case. I firmly believe that this comprehensive understanding leads the way for the most optimal decisions to be made. Quality always takes priority in my work, and persistently advocate for this principle.

I embrace a collaborative approach, valuing the contributions of each team member and assigning clear areas of responsibility. Clarity and order hold great importance to me, as I strive to minimize the need for repeated efforts.

My background

Since my childhood, my favorite game has been preparing for the game. For example, when playing with dolls, I loved building houses, making food items, and sewing clothes for the dolls. I enjoyed seeing the results and would sometimes keep all the creations for a few days, enjoying looking at them and thinking about what else I could add. The end of the game for me was when I couldn't make it any better, as it was perfect from my point of view. I would often repeat certain tasks multiple times to make them quicker. By the way, it was only when I grew up that I realized I was trying to speed up the process, as back then it was just a game. I wasn't very interested in actual play.

Since growing up, I have realized that I do the same thing at work. I thoroughly enjoy preparing parts and love it when others find the results beneficial for them.

Speaking of my onboarding experience, I have conducted onboarding in a high-speed business environment for both large and startup organizations. I have built onboarding processes and onboarded teams of employees and volunteers, as well as developed onboarding programs for an online community across 11 languages. I have gained valuable insights into the challenges and frustrations that can arise during the onboarding process from both sides.

In each role, I have actively participated in the selection, development, and implementation of HR and CS software tools. Due to my analytical approach, I dive deep to identify the root causes and gather data in order to observe the difference between the original state and the state after me implementing changes. In most cases, I had to determine the required data, collect it, and validate its accuracy. I then built reports and introduced them within the companies.

As you can see, the above mentioned activities involve a significant amount of communication with other people and departments, as well as strong organizational skills and the ability to visualize the bigger picture and break it down into smaller parts. It always involves juggling resources and finding the best way to achieve the desired result.

Now, I am excited to share my expertise and help you to improve the onboarding experience for your clients.

Participating in Maria's Onboarding Improvement program has truly been a game changer. Through our weekly calls spanning over 8 weeks, I've not only gained a comprehensive understanding of onboarding but have also established a robust system that I can genuinely take pride in.

The structured approach Maria brought to our sessions made every week a valuable learning experience. From the fundamentals to the small details, we covered every are for effective onboarding. The depth of knowledge I've acquired is beyond what I initially anticipated.

What made this journey even more enjoyable was Maria's engaging and insightful feedback and her patience. I found myself looking forward to our sessions each week.

Now that the program has concluded, I can't help but feel a tinge of sadness. Maria's guidance has been so helpful, and I now feel confident in my onboarding system.

I wholeheartedly recommend Maria's Onboarding Improvement program to anyone seeking not only knowledge but also an enjoyable learning experience. Thank you, Maria, for the invaluable lessons and the positive impact you've had on my approach to onboarding!

With love,

Destiny

Ida-Virumaa Hachathon + Skype Community

I am delighted to share my impressions of working with Maria at Skype and fiirst Ida-Virumaa (Narva) Hackathon. Maria held the position of head in the Skype Volunteer Community division and was a real pillar for the entire team.

But what especially stood out was her work as a mentor at the first Ida-Virumaa (Narva) Hackathon and Skype Community. Maria proved herself to be an exceptional leader and mentor. Her strategic thinking, energy, and ability to motivate the team were invaluable. She made a colossal contribution to the success of our team, and we are infinitely grateful to her for this.

She is passionate to customer/customer obsessed type of person She tries to understand the issue and learning how to solve the problems. And to be honest she is quite sharp: no need need to repeat multiple times information or solution for customer issues.
